Custom Work
I will do custom work. Different projects will, naturally, run different rates.
My standard rate is: cost of materials (fabric+notions) doubled. (e.g. Material cost=$50 My charge=$100)
For fancy projects and/or certain material types, I might add cost depending on a number of variables.
For anything entirely hand-stitched, my rate is: cost of materials (fabric+notions) tripled. (e.g. Material cost=$50 My charge=$150)
I do not work off an hourly rate and once set, I will not alter pricing except in cases of radical changes. For instance, if I have already purchased a material for a project and the customer changes their minds and wants another fabric which has a different cost, then I retain the right to change my price accordingly--whether that is up or down. I am willing to work with my customers to achieve what they want, even when it may cause me some slight frustration.
I will turn down jobs if I am back-logged and cannot see my way to a reasonably timed completion. However, if the customer is willing to wait extra time, I may slate a project for them with the understanding that I work on a first-come, first-serve basis as well as occasionally having personal project that I have time constraints for as well.
If I can be of service to you, please contact me! While I have a keen interest in reproducing historical garments, I will also do modern garment construction.
