Anyway, while this place has been rather dead, the machine has been really busy over the past month. First, I had grand visions for making myself a new formal for this year's Remembering WWII event. I started out knowing exactly what I wanted--then decided that I would give a pattern I had on hand a chance. It was a royal flop--for me.
There is a post-script to the blue dress though. I put $20 on it and took it to Linden where Katherine sold it to a girl for the Saturday evening dance! I was in the Veteran's Rest Area (my volunteer station) and I looked up, across the road and mumbled to myself, "Is that the dress I made?" It was! So anyway, this particular dress also had a happy ending. *smile*
From the Formal Flop Session, I moved into vendor prep--first simply assisting my mom in making aprons by cutting them out, pinning them, ironing, trimming, pinning, etc. Then I moved into actually assembling them myself. I don't really know how many I made as aprons and days are blended together in my brain. I do know I finished four the morning of the day we left! I do not have any individual, particular photos, but I thought I might show you the vendor set up at RWWII:
